Summer 2006 Newsletter
In This Issue
Welcome to our August issue. Take a quick moment to read about
the latest Vmeals offerings, helpful food facts and more!
Delivering “VCAP” gift cards every quarter has always been my
favorite task since starting the Vmeals service in the Washington
metro area over 2 1/2 years ago. I get to visit with all of our best
customers and, of course, get my quarterly hug from Diane Eaton of
Time Warner Cable. Speaking of Diane, last December, I received an
email from Diane in which, she requested her gift card early since
she was taking medical leave and wouldn’t return until January. As
it turned out, Diane’s condition was a little more serious than
expected, making it hard for her to do any Christmas shopping. She
says the “Target” card couldn’t have come at a better time as she
used it as a Christmas present for her daughter and new grandson
born Thanksgiving Day. Sometimes it’s the little things that make
everything worthwhile. By the way, Diane is doing just fine!
As the Internet becomes more and more a part of our every day
life, it’s nice to know that a unique service like Vmeals still
offers that element of human interaction.
“I use it every time I have a catering need, because it’s easy to
use and reliable. Nothing could be easier!”
Kathy Kearney Administrative Assistant NII Holdings, Inc
We’ve improved our popular “VCAP” program
Our VCAP awards program has never been more popular! Every
quarter we set new records for winners and the amount of gift cards
we distribute. Starting July 1, 2006 we made a few small changes to
the program to better align it with the new Vmeals corporate rewards
program (the VCAP program that you enjoy is sponsored by “Point
Click Eat, LLC which owns the Washington, DC metro area Vmeals
franchise). As a result we have reduced the number of award levels,
but are making it easier to earn higher valued gift cards. The new
award levels are in the chart below.
| Number of points achieved in calendar quarter |
Award |
| 750 to 2,499 points |
$25 gift certificate |
| 2,500 to 4,999 points |
$50 gift certificate |
| 5,000 to 7,999 points |
$100 gift certificate |
| Over 8,000 points |
$150 gift certificate |
Other ways to increase points
- Refer a friend from another company and
receive 1,000 points, when they place their 1st order.
- Refer a friend from the same company and
receive 500 points, when they place their 1st order.
- Refer your favorite provider and get 500 points when they sign
up.
- 1st Time Customers receive 100 points for “Signing Up”
We had 105 winners who won gift certificates in Q2.
Congratulations to Bernard Middleton of Centocor Pharmaceutials who
won the $200 Grand Prize Gift Certificate in Q2. Bernard has been a
valued customer for 1 year and has used the service over 50 times.
Plus, some of our winners elected to donate the cash value of their
gift certificate to the Furnari Fund. Many thanks to all who participated
in this program. << Back to top
Understanding how the Vmeals Service works?
When setting your “Delivery Time” please consider the following:
- Always set your “Delivery Time” to be at least 15 minutes
prior to your “Event Time” This gives your caterer time to setup
the meal.
- Ask yourself, “Is it difficult to deliver to my location?”
Parking a problem? Security necessary? Hard to find? Is this a
very important meeting? When will guest arrive for the meeting?
Etc. If any of these are true, please set the “Delivery Time” to
be at least 30 minutes prior to the “Event Time”. Note any
specific delivery instructions in the “Delivery Instructions”
section of your order. This extra time is especially helpful to
our new caterers, who might not be familiar with your location.
- Vmeals providers (restaurants/caterers) are ask to deliver
between 30 minutes prior to the set “Delivery Time”, but no more
than 5 minutes after that time. There are a few exceptions, so
please review the online menu carefully.
- Providers are required to call Vmeals Customer Service if they
anticipate being late!

Remember, this is YOUR Catering Network!
Yes, this is your catering network! The Vmeals network can only
get stronger by having our customers use the service and provide us
with ongoing feedback—Good & Bad! Your support and feedback will
help us build “you”, our customer, a strong network where you can
continue to get the best variety along with the most dependable
service in the industry.
With that said, you will no doubt see some caterers disappear
from the network. The reasoning for this could vary, but in most
cases the provider was not meeting our service level requirement. We
require all caterers to maintain a high level of service, which
means quality food, accurate orders and timely delivery. If they
can’t meet these basic requirements, we will take them off-line. By
sticking together, we can build a strong catering network that you
can depend on for years to come!
Thanks again for being a Vmeals customer!
