500 Orders & Growing |
 |
| When we started Vmeals service in the DC area in February it was a brave new world. We were starting a brand new business and a new way of ordering food for events and gatherings. Not only did we need to find Providers--restaurants and caterers--who would embrace the concept, but we also needed to introduce end users to the concept and ask them to try it.
From a start up in February we have grown in five short months to a cumulative total of 500 orders with a number of customers who order several times a month. This is a vote of confidence in the service and an endorsement that Vmeals does simplify your life.
Again, we couldn't be successful without you! |

VCAP Party Big Success |
 |
| We had our first ever VCAP (Vmeals Customer Appreciation Points)* party at Mama's Italian Restaurant on July 13th. This is our way of recognizing our customers for their use of Vmeals. It was a blast! All Vmeals customers were invited and we had over 50 attend including representatives from Harris Corporation, STG, Community Bank of NOVA, NII Holdings, Metron, Headstrong, Acumen Solutions, LMI, Symantec, and ATPCO. Several Vmeals staff members also joined us from Charlottesville including Bryan Bostic, our new Chairman of the Board.
Mama's served up some great food, we had a DJ, and lets of great networking and socializing.
Of course, we also handed out over 15 gift certificates as VCAP rewards and had drawings for other gifts as well.
Here is what one of our attendees, Trotter Collier had to say: "The Vmeals Customer Appreciation Happy Hour held at Mama's Italian Restaurant was exquisite. The room was posh, the table decor immaculately arranged and the host and hostesses couldn't have been more cordial. The Italian cuisine 'was to die for'"...

Customer Satisfaction Survey Results |
 |
When is the last time a food provider asked your opinion? At Vmeals your opinion counts. Based on your feedback we connect your comments to our providers so that you have the combination of food and service that you require. We ACT on your suggestions!
We have been sending out an electronic survey twice a month to all of you who have ordered in the previous two weeks. We find, for example, that over 93% would recommend our service to others and also reported that 97% of the time the food was timely delivered. This service works!
Here is what one satisfied customer recently said: "The box lunches from Joe Java were very good. Several people commented that the sandwiches were good tasting and more than enough in size to satisfy their hunger!" |

Announcing the Furnari Foundation |
 |
At the suggestion of one of our Vmeals customers we have joined forces with several in our community to found and support the Furnari Foundation. We are excited about the opportunity to develop this group and we think it will have a signficant impact on the lives of many in our area.
The Furnari Foundation for Breast Cancer Prostheses is a non-profit organization that subsidizes the costs associated with acquiring and maintaining breast prostheses used by women who have undergone a mastectomy. It turns out that after undergoing a mastectomy which is often followed by radiation and chemotherapy many women are not a candidate for breast reconstruction and turn to the purchase of prostheses. The costs of these prostheses, which range in price from $250 to $500 are often not covered by insurance and, of course, many cancer survivors do not have insurance.
The Foundation will work with local providers of prostheses to make grants to help acquire the prosthesis which could range from covering the insurance deductible to paying for the entire cost.
The Foundation is run entirely by volunteers and will have no overhead costs so that all contributions can be used to make grants.
Sources of funds for these grants will come from cash contributions, company contribution matching programs and donations of VCAP points. This will allow the Washington Area Vmeals team and our customers to embrace a worthwhile cause that will have a measureable impact on many lives.
We have already received pledges for $1500 in cash to get us started. Evelyn Peters of Symantec is the first to donate her VCAP points to the Foundation.
We are finalizing the details of the Foundation and will be ready to formally launch it after Labor Day. Stay tuned for more details!
